Good Morning everyone.  Just cold in these parts...No new white stuff, yet....I am making so many plans with friends down state cannot wait for Thursday to get here so we can leave...Weather man is calling for a storm that day so I hope to beat it as it is coming from the south this time......No plans for today maybe some cookies with the fella's if we have all the supplies haven't checked yet.......
QOTD: Do you guys partake in a bit of spiked egg nog during the holidays? I have had a drink now and then with friends.  I tried regular egg nog at work a few weeks ago.  Pouch didn't care for it caused nausea...And I really like eggnog.  I will have a drink with my mother in law but no eggnog maybe some brandy and diet coke......after the kids get picked up by their dad of course so I can unwind.........Have a great Sunday everyone!

I need to finish up making cookies.  Maybe some groc shopping at Walmart but then again maybe the local store.  I don't want to be in a crowded store with 4 kids (my 3 and my niece)!

QOTD:  NOPE.  I never did like it.

Have a great day everyone!

Good morning!  My usual protein coffee this morning.

QOTD:  No, I have never liked eggnog - but think I may try it again.  This recipe was posted as a WLS friendly alternative, and I heard it was very good:

From the Hungry Girl website....

No Nonsense Nog

Ingredients:

5 cups 8th Continent Light Vanilla Soymilk (or another light vanilla soymilk**)
1 small (4-serving) package Jell-O Sugar Free Fat Free Instant Pudding mix, Vanilla
6 no-calorie sweetener packets (like Splenda)
1 tsp. rum extract or imitation rum extract
1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg

Directions:
In a blender, combine all ingredients and blend on high until mixed thoroughly. Refrigerate for a few hours to allow it to thicken. Makes five 1-cup servings!

HG Alternative! For some "over 21" eggnog, add 5 ounces of rum to the recipe. It adds a few more calories, but it's WAY better than an ordinary eggnog ****tail!

Serving Size: 1 cup (1/5th of recipe)
Calories: 88
Fat: 2g
Sodium: 350mg
Carbs: 11g
Fiber: 0g
Sugars: 5g
Protein: 6g

Good morning all,

I'm having a hard time getting motivated today.  I've had some medical issues come up and it's really wreaking havoc on me (I'm going to post about it today, stay tuned :)).

Q:  I can drink anything, no problems (except getting a bit to tipsy ), but the one thing I cannot tolerate is Bailey's, probably the same reason you can't handle egg nog....to rich and creamy.  Stick to the brandy and diet coke, but be careful, if you haven't drank since surgery, drinking post op is very different than drinking pre op....you get drunk very fast.

Good Morning,
We have enough snow to cover the grass, and it looks very cold out there.  I will find out soon enough as I am off to the mall today.  Then after that I am going to see my new great nephew and have dinner at my sister-in-laws.  She said meatloaf we'll see what else she has.  QOTD: I love eggnog.  I tried 2 ounces last week non spiked and it sat just fine.  I may have another 2 ounces, and will have to try the HG recipe.  My kids also love egg nog so to bring it in the house is not a problem.  Stay warm!!!!

I was up WAAAYYY too early this morning fors choir practice and sip n sing before church but it was worth it.  The only VERY bad thing is I didnt have time to eat so I had to eat what was there before passing out which was basically donuts and bagels  uugh  I didnt eat much just a couple bites but still I feel bad.  After church I picked up a 6" oven roasted chicken sub so IM ok now.  I have rehearsal at 4 for Christmas Eve.    I am really getting a grasp on how HUGELY fat I am...  does that sound stupid??!!  I mean I know Im big and that its a problem but I guess since Ive hid in my house for the past 6 years it was kinda easier to block out but now that Im getting more of an active life Im realllly being hit with all of the reality of it I guess.  It hurts honestly :(  I know IM doing all I can right now losing weight well etc but it feels like its going to be a long long long time before Im not in thie situation anymore and it sucks!

I've never liked eggnog at all and I dont drink..well hardly ever.

your post reminded me of this blog I wrote a while back.
when I realized just how big I have become.

You have accepted the reality of your situation and now you are on your way to make amends.

emoticonWhy is it that you never seem to notice gaining weight or when it happens. One day your just in a hotel on vacation. One that has that big mirror behind the sink, out side the combo bath/toilet room. And Wuh La! you say to yourself, "Where the h. e. double hockey sticks, did that come from, and when?

emoticonThen You go on the taking it off program, and every week you look at the scale and step on it, only reducing the lbs. by a minimal amount. Your mind says
How Long Will It Take to lose these lbs. of blubber?

Some how it seems that you can get fat faster than you can get healthy!
or is just that getting fit is hard work and being lazy is easy?

It is similar...  I dont think being Lazy is easy though because I dont know about you but when I read these posts and people talk about things they used to do... all I see is misery and pain in between every line...  we are all recovering here you know?  Its nice to have a place where people understand that.

Now I think that it was not being lazy that got me to this point I think it was neglect,
I neglected to pay attention to what I was allowing to happen to body and neglected to take control of my actions.

the date on that was at the beginning of my WLS journey.

hind sight is 20/20

Good evening...
I got back home yesterday around 4 pm.  I took a two hour nap, got up and ate laid on the couch, and then went to bed.  It's hard work taking care of a newborn ( or rather helping take care of).  It was a lot of fun and I miss that little buggar already.  We're going back down Thursday, so I don't have to wait too long.
Being a Gram is the best.  The kids really appreciated my help (in the end) and took advantage of it the last two nights so they could get their 8 hours of sleep.  Now they're on their own.
I'm making stuffed cabbage tomorrow to take down for Christmas dinner and kielbasa and sauerkraut.  I'll probably make at least 30 cabbage rolls since there will be 10 of us for dinner.  I hope things go smoothly.  There is usually an argument of some kind, but I'm hoping this year goes smoothly.
QOTD:  I love eggnog.  The other day they were handing out samples in the grocery store, both light and full bodied.  I opted for a sample of the light and it was really sweet.  Sat fine on my pouch tho, just like everything else lately.  I haven't tried an alcoholic beverage yet, but plan to have some Late Harvest Reisling wine for New Years Eve.  My fav and I've missed it these last 5 months.

BTW, I finally hit another milestone.  Down 71.5 pounds!  I never dreamed I could do this.  It's fabulous!
